On a positive note, we had an amazing Waitangi Day Hīkoi here in Ōtepoti Dunedin. We filled Queens Gardens and The Octagon. There must have been 2,000 people out marching, chanting, singing and celebrating. There was anger, but it was also a public demonstration of mutual support, appreciation, respect, and aroha. It was a clear indication that the collective is alive and well, despite David Seymour's belief that all men (and women and children) are islands, each standing alone, each out for themselves. "All for one and one for me" is his banner and his brand. And it's toxic.

Just been watching David Seymour and Shane Jones on Mata with Mihingarangi Forbes. Why the fuck did I do that? Talk about swallowing shit. This was the rongā I needed. Kia ora rawa atu, e te tuakana x

Best not to read Chris Trotter (here on Substack) on Mihingarangi Forbes, then. You'll need a full body detox afterwards. Of all the people he could be going after, Chris Trotter (who describes himself as "New Zealand’s leading leftwing political commentator") attacks Mihingarangi Forbes. I really don't know who he thinks he's representing.
